Hi, I'm Haley!

​

I'm a food scientist, 

a certified culinary scientist 

a classically trained chef, 

and a food stylist. 

​

Back in 2016, I graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Nutrition and Food Science and completed my studies with a diploma in Culinary Arts from NAIT here in Edmonton. I recently obtained my Certified Culinary Scientist certification with the Research Chef Association. From cooking in an everyday kitchen, to working in a professional food research lab, to educating children on healthy food options as a culinary camp counselor, my love for food has only kept growing.

 

As my love for the culinary industry grew, I began documenting my passion for food and cooking through writing and photography.  I founded Hmaefood with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a key factor to my happiness. I find enjoyment in not only recipe development, but sharing my creativity with people across the social platforms. With my studies, I have come to understand food on a scientific level, as well as a creative level through food styling and photography.

Today, Hmaefood is a service provider for restaurants, bloggers, food influencers, chefs and a multitude of other business types.

At Hmaefood, I work with clients to provide:

  • high quality photography

  • recipe and menu development

  • promotional content 

 

Through my experience, I have developed and helped produce cookbooks, professional food photos, recipes for media influencers and shelf-stable products within the commercial marketplace.
